Printmaking wasn’t my media until 2007 when I enrolled my very first etching class. I was later introduced to Mezzotint by Professor King at K-State at the time. I immediately fell in love with this media after I struggled with two-dimensional language, which I majored in K-State.
I found the process of each method of printmaking so fascinating and appealing. I started feeling comfortable and confident working on 2D art—it is still very “physical and dimensional” as ceramics and sculpture for me, yet, the final work of printmaking is presented on paper. I have discovered my language two-dimensional language through it.
